Another Paragliding Accident

ALM Paraglider accident OnLA 30-year-old paraglider plummeted around 25 metres onto the Playa El Pozuelo in Taramay, Almuñécar on the 29th of December. He was taken to the Motril area hospital by helicopter.

The alarm was raised around 16.00h that Sunday afternoon and units from the Guardia Civil, Protección Civil and the local fire service responded to the 061 call.

At first the helicopter took him to Motril but as was soon decided for him to be flown to the main provincial hospital in Granada, as he was complaining of strong back pains.

The man had been taking part in the paraglider meet in Velilla, involving about 120 participants. It is not known what happened, causing him to come down 150 metres from the target, on an adjacent beach.
