The trial date finally came around for the Carmenes del Mar affair on the 23rd in Motril but the judge decided on a 15-day postponement.

The judge granted this time so that the affected property owners and the defendants can reach an agreement over the necessary building work needed to prevent further deterioration to the dwellings.

The said property owners, numbering over 400, agreed to give up part of the monies that would be coming to them in the form of damages in exchange for this urgent work to be carried out by the company allegedly responsible.

It took three years of legal action and three hours in the courtroom to reach this point, and every further delay witnesses further deterioration to the urbanización in question, especially with the autumnal and winter rains just around the corner.
