I must confess that birds don’t really do it for me, but then what do I know?
I’m clearly out of the loop because the Ornithological Society in this part of the world is extremely successful, with membership increasing annually. On top of that, every autumn, they have a get-together in Almuñécar to meet, compare breeding techniques and generally show off their feathered friends.
This year is no exception, with the twenty-seventh competition being held between the 25th of October and the 3rd of November in Avenida Fenicia, specifically, the Plaza Mayor building (opposite MacDonalds), which the public can visit between 10am-2pm and 5pm-9pm.
Given that last year, the competition boasted over 1,600 participants of all varieties (I assume we mean the actual birds here) from all over Spain, it could well be a spectacular sight!
