The Nerja Councillor for Infrastructure, Antonio García, stated that the project for the access lane to the future, Nerja fire station has been assigned a budget of 122,000 euros, and work is to begin towards the end of the month.
One thing is the access land and quite another is the fire station itself, which is in the hands of the Junta de Andalucia.
However, the morgue-cum-funeral parlour being built by a private company in the same area, has just about completed its infrastructure development work; i.e., the laying in of mains, electricity and sewage infrastructure, so the access lane will be very welcomed there.
Summing up: is the fire station any closer? In the case of the actual installations, not really, but any progress towards it is welcome, without a doubt.
