The Motril branch of the CA accused the governing party of cancelling an arrangement with the Instituto Confucio for Chinese lessons.
The Councillor for Education, Elena Vallejo, countered that it was the institute itself that cancelled the project, owing to a lack of interested students. She added she would like to know who had contacted the CA with such erroneous information.
She continued by claiming that the Chinese-language course had merely been suspended “temporally” by the institute and that the agreement still stands and it is hoped that in the following academic year there will enough students to begin again.
Her last observation was that these unjustified attacks from the CA were clearly an attempt to “tarnish the brilliant management by the Town Council using lies and fallacies.”
Well there you have it, Ladies and Gentlemen, Motril is being ‘managed brilliantly…’ reassuring stuff, indeed…
