A Frenchman in Nerja became very violent when two shop assistants informed him that he could not go into the changing room with his wife.
This occurred in a women’s clothes shop in the centre of Nerja and involved a French couple on holiday in the town.
“When we told the woman to hand back the garments, they began to insult us in French,” explained 27-year-old Ana Villares, adding, “then she picked up one of the shopping bags and started hitting me with it.”
The shop assistants informed the couple that they were going to report them to the police because of their unacceptable behaviour, which was when the husband allegedly grabbed Ana by the shoulders and pushed her towards the stairs. “If it hadn’t been for another customer who managed to grab me, I would have tumbled down them,” she explained.
At this point, according to the shop assistants, the couple tried to flee the shop and 31-year-old shop assistant, Anisley Agrenot, tried to stop them, which was when the man allegedly hit her on the head.
Immediately after the boisterous French tourists left, the shop assistants reported what had happened to the Guardia Civil.
