Mayor Guarantees Underground Car Park

The Mayor of Almuñécar, Trinidad Herrera, guarantees that the banks will not embargo the San Cristóbal underground parking bays.

She claims that the judicial process that deals with the embargo and auction of the said parking area is null and void, as the Town Hall is negotiating with the BBVA bank of the loan.

She considers that Juan Carlos Benavides, through the PA, has a nerve, as it was under him that the whole mess came about anyway and the present municipal administration has been left with the task of putting things to right.

Readers will remember – or else! – that the CA issued a press release containing the statement that 357 parking bays in the underground car-park installation under the Paseo de San Cristóbal would be going under the auctioneer’s hammer because the Mayor had been lax and let the affair slip to such a degree.

The Mayor says that the auction is not going to happen for one simple reason: “you can’t embargo the ownership of parking bays within public domain.”

She went on to explain that the affair was in the hands of the municipal legal department.
