Outlaw to your In-Laws

A young man of 22 was arrested for allegedly stealing 3,700-euros’ worth of jewels from his parent-in-laws’ house in Ogíjares.

According to the Guardia Civil the accused, a resident of Armilla, Granada, took advantage of his visits to their house, accompanied by their daughter to steal items which he later sold to a shop in Armilla that specialized in the sale and purchase of gold.

The parents had their suspicions about their son in law, as the disappearances coincided with his visits and as there were no signs of locks or windows being forced, ruled out burglary.

The Guardia Civil began their investigations by checking out all the compra-venta de oro shops and came across the missing items – these shops are obliged not only to register their purchases but to hang onto them for a set amount of time to give the police time to track down stolen jewellery. Once they found the stolen goods, the lad was as good as ‘in the bag.’
