A couple were arrested for allegedly kidnapping a dog and demanding 200 euros from the owner for its return.
The ‘dognappers,’ who are a 42-year-old woman and an 18-year-old man, contacted the woman after she put up missing notices, promising anybody who found her missing mutt a reward.
The dog owner, a woman from Atarfe, soon received a phone call from the couple to say that they had the missing Pomeranian dog. The number they used had no traceable number; i.e., the caller’s identity was withheld.
She arranged a pick up point and invited the Guardia Civil to pop along and meet the couple… they were arrested and the dog went home with ‘Mummy.’
