The Policía Nacional arrested three people in Motril allegedly belonging to a drug-trafficking gang, operating on the Costa Tropical. Those arrested are two men and a woman, aged 46, 45 and 32 years of age.
The actual arrests come after months of investigation into a municipal worker at the Motril cemetery, who allegedly used the burial niches as a ‘store’ for drug distribution.
The investigation also led to two Colombians living in Las Gabias who reportedly supplied the cocaine.
The police swooped as the gang members were carrying out a ‘transaction,’ bagging, in this manner half a kilo of cocaine, 1,500 euros in cash, a small press for molding the drug into tablets, eight mobile telephones and a high-range car that the Editor of the Seaside Gazette wouldn’t sniff at… an unfortunate choice of verb, perhaps.
