Crack Down on Dog Droppings

Whilst chewing gum might be a sticky problem as far as keeping the streets clean, what people object most to when it comes to stepping in something are dog droppings.

Accordingly, the Almuñécar Councillor for the Environment has stepped up the campaign to clamp down on ‘perilous pavements ornaments.’ The slogan that the Town Hall has come up with is Tu casa comienza en tu barrio (Your home includes your neighbourhood).

Anybody who lets their 4-legged, WMD dispenser sow the pavements without picking it up faces between 100 and 600 euros in fines.

Furthermore, according to article 33 of the local bylaws, it is forbidden to have your dog off the lead so that it can erect a monument to its last meal without your scooping it up; it’s forbidden to take your dog into a park or let it run on the beach or to put left overs out on the streets with the intention of feeding strays.
