Almuñécar Municipal Budget Approved

The Town Council met Friday morning 19th of April and approved the municipal budget with all parties (IU, PSOE, PA & PP) voting in favour, except the CA party.

The modification submitted by the CA to the proposed budget, calling for funds to be set aside for the municipal market, was rejected unanimously. This modification had been proposed by the association of stall holders at the municipal market and taken up by the CA.

The approved budget stands at 32.2m euros, which is ten million less than the one that has been operative for the last three years, representing a 29% reduction.

In the expenses section of the budget, 51.42% is destined for services, followed by 32.12% for personnel and 10.41% for real investment. There is also 4.04% for current transfers, 1.7% for financial costs, 0.16% for capital transfers and 0,11% for financial assets.

As for income, the 2013 Budget establishes almost 49%, followed by current transfers 25,77%, taxes and other income at just over 18%, followed by equity income of 3%, direct taxes 2.56%, and finally capital transfers and financial assets.

Also covered at the meeting was the building licence for Los Verdiales in La Herradura and for the Congumar building licence. The PSOE & IU abstained and the PP & CA voted in favour.

The fifth point of the day was the legalization of occupied land for the extending of the Paseo Marítimo Puerta del Mar, which was approved unanimously.

There were other points, but frankly, you’ve probably already decided to skip the rest of the article some time back…
