Watch Out in Motril!

The Guardia Civil Traffic Police, in conjunction with the Motril municipal police, will be placing radar controls within the municipality between the 8th and 14th of this month.

According to the Councillor for Mobility and Safety, Manuel Ballestos, this campaign is concentrating on covering conventional roads and town-centre ones, using speed cameras placed at known trouble spots.

He also pointed out that if a pedestrian is hit by a vehicle travelling at 80 kph, there is practically no chance of his surviving the encounter, whereas if the vehicle is moving at 30 kph the chance of being killed is reduced to 10%.
