The young man that physically assaulted the Mayor of Salobreña and a municipal policeman on the 9th of March has been sentenced to two year’s imprisonment.
The 30-year-old man already has several previous convictions on his criminal record, so there was no chance of a suspended sentence.
The case did not actually go to trial as the defence lawyer struck a deal with the Public Prosecutor, who had previously recommended a 4-year sentence.
The man also has to pay fines which amount to 420 euros, as well as pay 175 euros in compensation to each of the victims.
