2012 Capital Flight

The exodus of capital from Spain during 2012 was more than double that of 2011.

Spain waved goodbye to a total of 179,211 million euros between January and December 2012, peaking in the summer months. Only in September, with the markets relaxing after the Central European Bank promised to back Spain, did the pressure ease off.

The figure for 2011 was a los of 73.393-million euros, whereas both 2009 and 2010 gave positive results: 41,517m euros and 27.479m euros, respectively.
