The pavement along the Motril port road (Avenida Nuestra Señora de la Cabeza) is undergoing roadworks to prevent people parking along it and improve the safety of pedestrians.
Many people walk or jog along this busy road down to the port from the centre of Motril, some for the exercise itself, others to go to the swimming pool.
The changes to the pavement has a budget of 10,000 euros and will affect 150 metres of pavement, giving it a uniform surface and bollards to prevent drivers from parking across the entrances of alleys running of the main street.
