Fire services rushed to tackle a blaze in a 3rd-floor flat in Calle Sevilla, Almuñécar at 23.30h, last night.
Although a total of 30 residents were evacuated from their homes for their own safety, the flat itself is uninhabited and even has a ‘to-rent’ sign hanging on its balcony.
[mappress mapid=”67″]The Guardia Civil immediately informed its owners, who live close by in Plaza de Madrid (the fisherman-statue square).
The fire was declared extinguished at 01.00h and the Guardia Civil given the go-ahead to go up and investigate the cause of the fire. At this same hour the evacuated residents were also allowed to return to their homes.
