The Almuñécar IU councillors have had a look around the Aquarium, accompanied by municipal experts. What they saw convinced them that the people of Almuñécar should see first hand what state it is in.
For this reason, party Spokesman, Fermín Tejero, has asked Councillor Luis Aragón and the Mayor, Trinidad Herrera, to organise as soon as possible a series of guided visits for all the different associations in town.
After witnessing with his own eyse what a “lamentable” state, in his opinion, the installations were in, Sr Tejero said he cannot explain how municipal inspectors who oversaw the construction of the site could have possibly given their approval for such a “barbaric affair.”
As well as the electrical installations, the flooring, air conditioning and other elements are in “very poor condition,” Sr. Tejero considers that there is a lot of unnecessary machinery and improperly installed equipment.
“We are before badly designed installations, with very elevated costs and a total absence of control by municipal inspectors, as well as the abandonment of the installations by the leasing company that ran it,” he stated, adding, “Now, the Town Hall; in other words, los Almuñequeros, have to spend over 300,000 euros to patch up the installations and get them open to the public again.”
