Moroccan Culinary Benefit Evening

As most Gazette readers know, the magazine donates a full-page advertising to the AECC, in the form of a cork board for business cards, the proceeds of which go exclusively to the AECC. So, the Seaside Gazette wants to support the Moroccan Culinary Benefit Evening drive on facebook by promoting the event via our website.

Below, we reproduce the explanation on the events facebook account so that our readers can know what it is all about and hopefully support the move. The following is written by Rebeca Louisa Lock:

“Most of the people I have sent this invitation to have known Susie for many years, for her needlework, her happy smile and for all the love and care she has shown to people through her whole life.

Susie is now being treated for breast cancer, which necessitates long and intensive periods of chemotherapy and radiotherapy in Malaga, which only comes at a price in the Spanish state system. One of Susie’s closest friends, Edwina Golombek, who was also a resident of Frigiliana and who Susie helped when Edwin was seriously ill last year, has rallied to the cause and has volunteered to lead the organisation of a number of events to benefit Susie.

Edwina owns and runs “The House of Fusion” cookery school in Marrakech with her husband, and the school is recognised as a destination of choice by many holiday companies. She has volunteered to provide a Moroccan BBQ on Saturday 18th August. This will demonstrate the unique fusion of spices used in the preparation of Moroccan meats and the salads are fabulous. The venue for the party is a spectacular garden in Maro and the venue alone is enough to inspire you to both help Susie and also to go to a garden centre the following day!

Tickets are for sale at 20€. We look forward to your very generous support whilst enjoying a fantastic BBQ with live music and great atmosphere. There will also be a raffle with some fantastic prizes. For more information or to order tickets, please message me.”
