Unmissable Freestyle Motocross Championship

On the 22nd of July in Almuñécar there was quite a celebration going on with the presentation of the Freestyle Trials, taking place on the 11th of August at the municipal sports stadium – not to be missed.

Dozens of youngsters turn up at the presentation on the paseo, which lasted most of the day and well into the night. There was Motorbike Trials, BMX, capoeira, aerobic, spinning, prizes and DJ’s throbbing out suitable music for the occasion.

The event also had a bar, which did not please the established bars on the seafront, obviously. This, by the way, has been a complaint brought up by the CA opposition party; i.e., the governing party is organising too many street events with bars included which are providing unfair competition for bar-owners that barely survive the off season, hoping to make some money in the summer – and then comes along the temporary bars and restaurants to skim off the cream of the trade, so to speak.

Anyway, back to the beach event, which was designed to promote the upcoming motorbike jumping competition, Campeonato de España de Freestyle MX 2012, which will have the top riders on a national level competing, amongst them Edgar Torronteras, José Miralles, (winner on five occasions for the Spanish Freestyle Cup) Dani Torres, Maikel Melero and others.

Entrance tickets on the day will be between 10 euros and 45, which can be obtain either at the stadium, the sandwich bar Ole-Ole, Motos Barea and over in La Herradura at Motos Manolo.
