Last weekend, the Motril Port had a bit of a scare over a suspicious beach-style icebox, which was found in the ferry terminal – the Guardia Civil bomb squad (TEDAX) was called in.

The icebox had been sealed, it seems, and after the explosives-detection dog had a good sniff, raised one of its eyebrows and then shrugged, a small detonation device was strapped to it and activated.

The suspicious icebox contained ice cubes and badly shaken cans of light refreshment – somebody had obviously forgotten it before boarding.

So, all turned out well, but the owner, if he ever turns up, will probably need the protective suit of the TEDAX chaps, if he ever intends to open one of the very shaken cans of drink….
