Cerro Gordo Pyromaniac Strikes Again

On Sunday the 12th another fire was started on Cerro Gordo, bringing the local pyromaniac’s score up to ten since the end of last summer. On each of these occasions, fortunately, the fire was detected and put out before it could cause any great damage, thanks to the rapid call outs of the fire services.

As if this virgin area of Mediterranean woodland didn’t have enough to contend with, with the intrusion of urban development, now it has its very own lunatic – there is no other description – bent upon finishing off what the Spanish Building Boom could not.

Sunday’s fire was the third fire in one week in the local area, with a fire at the Molino de Papel de la Miel breaking out almost at the same time as a fire in the centre of Nerja.
