When a man walked into the Guardia Civil post in Salobreña to confess to four burglaries that had taken place two years earlier, to say that the policemen were surprised would be an understatement, but there he was, explaining that he couldn’t live with his conscience and wanted to make a signed confession.
This 19-year old from Salobreña proceeded to give a detailed account of the four burglaries and the booty obtained, leaving the desk sergeant with no doubt that the young man was the author of the said crimes.
Almost apologetically, they then arrested him before escorting him to his home to recuperate the few stolen items that remained in his possession. After that, he was released on bail pending trial.
Two of the burglaries were in Salobreña involving a chalet within a local urbanización and the other involving a break-in at a secondary school. In the former he came away with jewels and in the latter, a laptop computer.
Furthermore, In Guájar Fondón one burglary furnished him with an acoustic guitar amongst other things.
