La Herradura will soon have an investigation centre, belonging to the Andrés Segovia Classical Guitar Competition, which will be housed the in Civic Centre, said village First Councillor, Juan José Ruiz Joya, which he announced at the opening ceremony of this year’s competition.
But there is more to this extra push for this internationally recognised competition, because its website will also be revamped and accommodation for competitors will be improved, he announced.
The councillor praised the competition’s judges, giving special mention to the Chairman of the organisation, Antonio Martin Moreno, for his “help and collaboration in following the stipulations (laid down by Andrés Segovia if there was to be a competition in his name) and thus turning the competition into one of the most important of its kind.”
Antonio Martin Moreno, in turn, thanked the Town Hall for its proposal and announced that in the said investigation centre they were, “establishing important ties with universities – in fact a group of musicologists are at present working on the scheme.”
