The municipal board of tourism will sign an agreement with a Russian tour operator in which the Town Hall will pay 50% of the transport costs from Málaga Airport to Almuñécar hotels.
This deal, signed with Natalie Tours, comes as part of a drive to capture new foreign markets, said the Mayoress, Trinidad Herrera. She said that the deal signing will take place at the Madrid Tourism Fair (Fitur) this coming January.
The Chairman of the Association of Hoteliers, José Andrés Fernández (who is also the owner of Hotel Victoria Playa), considers the proposed deal to be “very interesting, as it opens a door that has been closed until now.”
According to Natalie Tours, they foresee between two and five flights into Málaga per week, with a minimum of two containing tourists for the Costa Tropical. It should be remembered that this tour operator has brought some 180,000 Russian tourists to Spain, 20,000 of which visited the Costa del Sol. With the new addition of the Costa Tropical, these figures are set to grow considerably.
