Access Restored

One of the first things that the new Mayor did, after taking up office, was to remove the red-tapes on the stairs leading up to the first floor of the Town Hall – they had been put in place by the previous tenants of the Mayor’s office to prevent members of the public having access.

He had made this an election promise as many members of the public had complained about these limitations.

“The doors to the Town Hall are open to everybody from today on. We want transparency and direct contact with the citizens of Salobrena to be the hallmark of our legislature,” he announced.

The previous council had put this restriction on the upstairs offices, making it obligatory for members of the public to address their enquiries, etc to the Oficina de Atención al Ciudadano, which is on the ground floor, next to the main entrance.
