A bar owner from Huescar (north-east Granada) is standing trial for attempting to stab two of his customers to death – fair!
In June of 2009, J.M.R.G threw two customers out of his bar, threatening them with a baseball bat once they were out on the street. Now, feeling that he had not expressed his position with sufficient clarity, he stormed back inside and stomped back out again, but this time armed with a 20cm kitchen knife.
According to the Public Prosecutor, it was at this point that he launched himself at one of his victims ‘with the clear intention of ending his life,’ aiming the blade at the man’s thorax. He then attacked the other man, aiming at his neck but the intended victim managed to fend off the thrust with his arm, sustain a gash wound instead to his hand.
The aggressor faces 14 years in prison and a compensation payment of 10,440 euros.
