Work in progress, which would bring much needed water from Castril to Baza, have been halted.
The project, which was approved in 2007 with a budget of 71 million big ones, has been plagued with delays and arguments, and was meant to insure against future droughts, which in this part of the country are common enough to do something about them.
Spokeswoman María José Martín of the PP revealed how she felt “surprised, disappointed and deceived” over the decision, and is demanding political parties and interested organizations, at all levels, to sort this mess out.
