Make Fun; not War

The old military training complex up by El Padul, which opened not long after the Spanish Civil War, may soon become a sports and leisure centre.

The Town Hall has formally asked the Ministry of Defence to cede them the lands so that they may be put to other, more positive uses. The old grounds have hardly been used the past few years, and are clearly in a state of decay. But as it is still occasionally used, the Town Hall has proposed that they share it, the few days a year the military wants for the military, and the rest of the year for the Town Hall.

They have told the Ministry that besides the various sports and leisure activities they would open to the public, they could also offer the military certain projects such as orientation, hiking, rescue, climbing, and so forth.
