It Ain’t Academic

A long-term professor up at Granada University has been charged with sexual aggression and abuse against his pregnant Russian girlfriend. The way the affair began rather sign-posted its end, perhaps. The two had met on the Internet and a virtual relationship blossomed.

The young lady, already pregnant, decided to re-locate to Granada to join the professor, of Arabic origins, and had only been in town a month when the sorry affair finally fell apart.

Within that short time she had decided she had made a mistake and wanted to return to Russia, but the professor locked her up instead and sexually abused her, as well.

Her family in Russia were worried and got in touch with relatives in Tarragona, who contacted the police, and swift action followed. Posing as Social Workers, they managed to get the young lady out of the flat, heard her story, and promptly arrested the professor.

I take my hat off to the police for having sorted this out so quickly but put it back on again in dismay at how we are capable of behaving.
