Velilla Resurfacing Finished

The Velilla road has been surfaced, although the parking bays haven’t. On a positive note, part of the work that’s been going on there has been improvements to the drainage system. On the other hand, 50% of available parking along that road has disappeared, which in Almuñécar is a very rare occurrence…

The question is, has Velilla’s long running suffering finally ended? Come summer, or Semana Santa, it should be fun trying to find parking along Velilla as the underground car park has not provided more parking space, when you take into account just how much has disappeared – let’s see.

But ours is not a lone voice in the dark (boo!) but one echoed – finally – by one of the opposition parties; i.e., the PP, who claim that 160 parking spaces have been lost in Velilla. It’s a pity that the opposition didn’t wake up to what was happening when something could have been done about it, rather than bringing it up now when the whole lot is finished.
Finishing the subject on a positive note, our Northern European co-residents – great fans of bicycles – should be very pleased with the new bike lane.
