Let’s get off politics and get down to some good old fashion thuggery and thievery… yes, I have changed the subject off politics – this is about a hold up.

The Guardia Civil arrested a 22-year-local, accused of robbery using violence and intimidation – If Dave Darby were here he could have told me the correct legal/police term for that, but he prefers to be sunbathing in Chippenham!

The modus operandi of the offender was to simply use his car to block another car, forcing him to stop and then to get out of the car. The man then – allegedly – told the unlucky driver to hand over all his valuables, including any money that he had in his wallet. Unfortunately, the driver didn’t have any money on him. In fact, the driver wasn’t even wearing a watch or had any valuables at all on him.

The mugger wasn’t impressed – is nothing sacred? Now rather annoyed at the unreasonable circumstances of his victim, he jumped into his victim’s car and proceeded to rip out the speakers from his music system – fair!

He did this to hold the stereo speakers to ransom, the cad, explaining that if the erstwhile owner of the said stereo speakers ever wanted to see them alive again, he should turn up with 100 euros at a predetermined meeting point.

The victim assured him that it was a spiffing idea and that he would attend with alacrity, suitably armed with the desired cash. He omitted to inform him, however, that he would be attending accompanied by the Guardia Civil… hence the arrest.
