Ouch! Three Brits face a total of 18 years’ imprisonment, after being ‘surprised’ in alleged possession of ecstasy, hashish, LSD and Marihuana… The gents, D.J.B, L.W.P and C.E.P., were in a Jaguar with UK plates when they saw a Guardia Civil road checkpoint on the N-340 where it passes through the township of Almuñécar.

Of course, if there is one thing that attracts the attention of the Green Meanies, it is doing a hand-brake turn and speeding off in the opposite direction, anywhere near a checkpoint.

According to the public prosecution service, the incident occurred on 19th of February 2008 around 22.30h. The Guardia set off in pursuit and after a brief chase, caught up with them, besides being charged with be in possession of drugs with intent to sell them, the driver was also done for dangerous driving and resisting arrest. And there ends the Almuñécar version of the Italian Job car chase – not much of a cliff hanger, though…
