Trevélez, Anybody?

Desperately believing that there must be somebody from Trevélez reading this, even if it is via the online version… we bring you the following article: Trevélez has decided to restore the most emblematic footpaths that have fallen into disuse. Not only that, but they are also bringing out a guide for the said mountain footpaths as well as carrying out training courses for guides.

[mappress]The footpaths concerned are: the GR-7 (Granada province, footpath denomination system), Sulayr, Siete Lagunas, Peñabón, Chorrillo, Horcajo and Puerto de Jérez. Perhaps the most well-known one is the Siete Lagunas, as it links Trevélez to the seven ponds that are left by melting ice each year.

Yes you are being read, and some of the paths are being restored mainly because of the damage caused last winter. The walking situation is still dodgy in places but latest information can be found by asking in the tourist info office in the lower square. David Disney.
