The end of April saw the celebration of the La Herradura Spring Fiesta, and thankfully, although a little bit cloudy at first, spring actually did show her sunny side.
Celebrations were held at the castle, where visitors could have a look round at all the renovations. Entertainment took the form of a dance troop from the Sabor Dance School, choreographed by their teacher Eva Ruiz Prados, and a very good job she has done, as the performance was very well received. There was also a choir made up almost entirely of La Herradura residents who performed a wide range of pieces.
After the performances there was food for all, as well as stalls and face painting for the children.
Good fun was had by all, and it did make me chuckle… a few hundred years ago, trying to enter that castle would have earned an Englishman an extra orifice below his chin… now they’re veritably shoving us in there!
