As I write this, there are now actually items of heavy machinery working on the renovation of Av. Garcia Lorca. I kid you not. No more of the two men with shovels. It makes you think, though. The idea was to sacrifice some scarce parking, in order to widen the sidewalk. OK, you think. Now, it seems, most of the widened sidewalk is to be given over to plantings. Hmm…. I’m still dodging baby buggies.
There’s also good news regarding La Calle Nueva. I am reliably informed that a new contractor has finally been appointed, and by the time this magazine graces your coffee table, work will have started. After all, it’s only been in a state of collapse since June.
