Thanks to the success of the first edition of the municipal Countryside Paths and Walks 2009 guide book, which is edited in English, as well as Spanish, they have gone into their second reprint, with the contents brought up to date.
The guide gives suggestions for walks around the municipality of Salobreña, graded to various degrees of difficulty, ranging from easy, medium and difficult, to be enjoyed on foot, bicycle or even horseback.
If you are interested in obtaining a copy of this popular handbook, you can order one at the town Tourist Information Office, says the Councillor for Tourism, Miguel Castaño.
A total of 1,710 copies have been printed of the 128-page, full-colour guide, which offers 6 different routes, complete with maps and route guides.
Amongst the routes on offer, there are short ones around the vega, to more adventurous ones along the cliffs to the west of Caleta. There are also ones that concentrate on historical sites, so there is something for everybody.

I have just returned back to the UK after spending two wonderful weeks at the Best Western.I bought a copy of the book from the Tourist Office because I will return next year and hope to explore the region further. However, I am finding it difficult to follow the routes even though I do have the recommended maps and I was wondering whether there were lists of waypoints to accompany the routes. UTM or WGS84 would be great. Thank you. Chris
