False Burglary Claim?

The Guardia Civil have arrested a 63-year-old local man, originally from Denmark, for allegedly making a false claim that his house had been burgled and completely cleaned out to the tune of 125,000 euros.
The Guardia became suspicious when they checked the premises, and got the feeling the damage caused gaining entry to the house wasn’t consistent with a normal burglary.
To make matters worse for our distraught Dane, they allegedly found indications that the evidence indicating that someone had been in the premises appeared to be ‘simulated’ said a source in an official press statement about the incident.
Just when he thought things couldn’t get any worse, the Guardia then turned up evidence that he had purchased a new insurance policy, just two weeks prior to the alleged burglary that covered his house contents to the tune of 150,000.
The Guardia are not renowned for their belief in extreme coincidence and promptly handed the man over to the judicial authorities to be charged with making a false report and fraud.
