Swimming Pool Renovations

Salobreña swimming pool has been splashing our news pages a lot recently, with management quibbles and a lack of funds to pay its staff. This month however, it’s time to congratulate what is actually a really great facility for getting underway with installing an impressive 84 solar panels on the roof to heat the water and control climatisation.
At a cost of 114,000 euros, the project isn’t cheap, but once up and running will not only reap the obvious environmental benefits, but also generate huge savings for the town hall that currently fork out loads of tax-payers cash on energy bills for the centre. The bad news however, I’m afraid folks, is that the work will take three months to complete, so bathers will have to hang up their goggles for a while. The management did however think about the timing of this one for a change, and timed the works to coincide with the summer months when the pool is less busy. So, as regular swimmers head to the beach, don’t panic if you’ve already bought your pool bonos, when the facility reopens you can still use your tokens as usual.
