Tortured by Burglars

GRA GorThe Guardia Civil are looking for two individuals who broke into a house and tortured the elderly couple to find out where they kept their valuables.

The incident took place in a municipal dependency of Gor in the north of the province called Las Viñas and the thieves only managed to take 200 euros away with them, together with two mobiles and a pair of earrings.

The 64-year-old homeowner is a shepherd who had sold his flock only a few days previously, which is the reason that they were targeted, no doubt.

When the thieves broke in they found the man by himself and began beating him up to find out where he kept his money. After only coming up with 200 euros they began to smash his fingers with a hammer.

After a long session of torture, the wife arrived home. As soon as she walked in the door they literally ripped her earrings off and then set about hitting her.

Not content with the results, they covered both of them with petrol and threatened to burn them alive – the couple both believed that they would not survive this ‘visit.’ Luckily, getting nothing further from the couple the thieves believed that the victims were telling the truth, and ran off.

In just the province of Granada alone there were 76 violent robberies carried out in people’s homes during 2016.
