A car caught fire on the N-340, near the traffic lights in front of the gasoline station in Almuñécar. The fire caused considerable smoke which hindered traffic.
The photo, provided by infocostatropical, shows the moment that the driver had to abandon his vehicle.
Close to hand was a Guardia Civil patrol to control the situation and direct the traffic.
There was so much smoke that at one point the stricken car was hidden from view, provoking quite a bit of consternation from passersby and drivers, given the proximity of the gasoline station.
