Salobreña will have an extra 1,500 parking places available this summer, right next to the beach. This entails, in some cases, reversing the traffic flow along the main beach road.
But it’s not all gain because the centre of town has lost a habitual parking place, situated in the Avenida del Mediterráneo, next to the Postigo bakery.
The majority of new summer parking will be in the Avenida de Andalucía, running parallel to the Paseo Marítimo, in the form of four plots, which between them can provide 1,000 parking slots. They are situated next to: the summer cinema, Salomar 2000, Mayorazgo and Jardines del Mar.
The Sub-Inspector of the Local Police, Alberto Sánchez, hopes that these measures will ease parking and traffic problems. He also hopes that they won’t have to take ‘action’ against those that park in ridiculous places, where it presents an obstacle for pedestrians etc.
