Weekends on the A-44 between the coast and the city of Granada are always a nightmare in the summer, which is why on Sundays the southbound lanes will lend one to the returning traffic from the beach.
The A-44 may have eliminated (almost) the traffic jams reaching the coast from Granada, but it has only moved the problem from the autovía to the N-340.
The summer’s here but the coastal highway is not, nor will it be until early 2013 probably.
As part of the austerity measures, the Government announced that it would cut back 6,400 million euros on public spending. Even before this announcement, the long-awaited completion date for the A-7 coastal highway had been set back to 2011.
