Roof Gives Way

Abandoned houses in the old town of Almuñécar (San Miguel) continue to cause concern. Recently one such house in Calle San Joaquín caused alarm when part of the roof gave way, with the owner inside. She was unharmed and it was indeed fortunate that the three children were away at school.

Curb on Politicians’ Salaries?

It appears that the Central Government will not be going forward with the plan to reduce the number of town hall across the country – at present there are just over 8,000. However, it is serious on regulating salaries for mayors and councillors.

A7 in 2015

The Central Government has just promised that the A-7 Autovia del Mediterraneo will be completed in 2015.

Student Protest March in Granada

Tens of thousands of Spanish secondary-education pupils came out in protest across the country in protest against education cuts and corruption. They were calling for the whole government cabinet to resign.
