At around six in the evening on the 8th of February the town hall square (Pl.Constitución) was packed to its edges with parents and their children in fancy dress.
It was a show where the audience were just as much part of the show as those performing on the stage. The square had several hundred locals and visitors enjoying the sight of very young children enjoying themselves, in what must have been for them the most bizarre yet fun place to be.
There were older children, as well, taking part in the competition; the competition to chose the best children’s fancy dress, Carnival 2013.
The Seaside Gazette was fortunate enough to run into the Councillor for Fiestas, Maria de Mar, and use the balcony of her 2nd-storey office in the town hall to shoot the above footage.
We’ll post a photo of the winner just as soon as we receive them from the Town Hall Press office.
