Twice Evicted

The Guardia Civil in Padul have arrested a 50-year-old widow, accused of carrying out a theft in a house from which she had been evicted. Her 24-year-old daughter has also been charged.

Controversial Eviction in Padul

A widow, her two daughters and a granddaughter were evicted from their home in 13 Virgen de las Nieves in Padul. The Guardia Civil carried out the eviction after Banco de Santander acquired the court order.

Elderly Made Homeless?

It appears that the Motril Town Hall owes 30,000 euros in back rent for a residence for the elderly – the landlord has threatened to evict the 350 elderly residents.

News for the Rent Shy

The Central Government is changing the laws concerning rented property, which will hasten up the eviction process of non-paying tenants. When you consider that only 17% of Spaniards live in rented accommodation – the EU average is 30% – it means that it will affect a high proportion of the population.
