You will have noticed that temperatures have cooled a little, especially at night, with temperatures in the low 20s on the coast and middle-to-high teens inland in the Valle de Lecrín (Dúrcal) and the Alpujarra (Lanjarón).
The NASA satellite service, Fire Information for Resource Management System (FIRMS) shows areas affected by fires from yesterday as Dúrcal and La Herradura/Almuñécar.
Perhaps it was just because the amount of cars on the road, or perhaps it was of the summer heat – or both but broken-down cars on the autovías abound.
The hotter weather is returning. However, whilst we might bemoan the temperatures on the coast, in the city of Granada it will be in the low 40s and around 23ºC at night.
At a quick glance, Friday will see maximum temperatures in their mid-30s on the coast and a degree or two hotter inland. As for the the lows on Friday, they range from 19ºC in Durcal to 24ºC in Motril.
Temperatures will stay in the mid 20s during the week and finish with the weekend still under 30ºC. Inland the temperatures will remain in the high 20s and end the weekend in the low 30s.
As you will have noticed, temperatures have gone down over this weekend with cooler weather extending into Tuesday, but after that the thermometer will climb again.
