It's that time again; Tomorrow's the first Saturday of the month, when people have the chance to do a bit of shopping at the 40 stands in the gardens of Hotel/Restaurante Alquería Los Lentos.

Homemade pizzas and other food, prepared on the spot, stands selling handicraft products from leather items to candles and soap, are some of the reasons for popping up from the coast.

There is also live entertainment in the form of music provided by the Slowtown Trio and Maezo. So there’s things to buy, things to eat and live music.

This monthly market is always held on the first Saturday of the month, so if you do have to miss this one owing to prior arrangements, then make a note in your diary for November! Parking’s not a problem, either.

The easiest way of getting there is to come off the autovía at the Nigüelas/Dúrcal junction, take the N-323A at the roundabout and get onto the service lane running parallel with this Dúrcal-bypass road. Stay on the lane until you see a turning off to the right where there is a sign saying Alquería de Los Lentos – you can’t miss it.
