Uncontrolled Dumping Countered

The Environment Department of the Salobreña Town Hall has decided to crack down on uncontrolled rubbish dumping around the town, ranging from domestic rubbish to building waste. Besides being a public health risk, they are also an eyesore, says a Town Hall spokesman.

The Mayor of Almuñécar’s party, the PP, have denounced the ‘squandering’ allegedly carried out by the previous mayor, Juan Carlos Benavides. According to the PP, the ex-Mayor rewarded his ‘faithful followers’ with trips to some of the towns that are twinned with Almuñécar.
