Antonio Martín Quirós – Artist

Antonio is 32 years old and is a true ‘born and bred’ son of Almuñécar. He came to study art quite late in life compared to most, undertaking a Bachelor of Arts in Motril then in college in Granada, although his love of the subject was with him from an early age.
His vibrant and exciting works will be on display at the Calmar Gallery in Almuñécar that is next to the aqueduct and the Chamber of Commerce in Almuñécar. The exhibition will be on until April 27th.

Almuñécar Cultural Agenda April

The full cultural agenda for Almuñécar during the month of April, including concerts, art exhibitions and walks. Much has been left in Spanish, because with a minium knowledge of the language, it is easy to understand. The only thing that we have translated fully are the walks at the bottom of the agenda.

Semana Santa Salobreña

The Town Hall has limited itself to scanning a brochure and emailing it to us – life would have been a lot easier if they had sent us a text document, as Almuñécar did. Anyway, we’re completely bogged down trying to get the April hard copy out so there is no time to type it…

Royal British Legion

News from the Nerja branch of The Royal British Legion that the 2009 annual Poppy Appeal, which this year targeted support for the wounded and bereaved of the conflict in Afghanistan, raised over €13,500 in our region alone.

St. Patricks

Last year, the only place to be in the village on St. Patricks Day was El Ancla, and it looks like the evening of 17th March will be one to remember again.

Arrayanes Events

Things are rather lively down at Hotel Arrayanes on the Cotobro beach. Not only are they putting on a fantastic Valentines Menu for just €35 on both the 13th and 14th of February, but you can also pop along on any Wednesday at 4pm and enjoy a Traditional Tea Dance! Mercedes is even putting on cucumber sandwiches and scones, and all for just €5!
